Art Ego (written on 4th Feb 2025)
Artists need artists who support each other, for it is in the collective energy that true creation arises. The path of the artist is a journey of expression, of vulnerability, and of growth. We are all walking different paths, yet there is an invisible tether that connects our shared experience of creation. We must dissolve our art ego and breathe as one, for it is through unity that we can tap into the deeper realms of inspiration, where ideas flow freely, unburdened by competition or pride.
The ego is not the enemy; it is a part of us, a healthy voice that protects and nurtures our identity. It reminds us of our worth, our desires, our purpose. It is the celestial whisper in our mind that gently guides us to define our boundaries and to assert our place in the world. The ego serves us when it speaks with humility, when it acknowledges the need for growth and collaboration. But when the ego becomes the loudest voice in the room, drowning out the whispers of our intuition, it can cloud our perception and keep us from experiencing the true beauty of shared artistry.
To be an artist is to be in constant dialogue with the world and with each other. It is an exchange, a flowing of energy that cannot exist in isolation. When we let go of our need for dominance, when we set aside comparison and judgment, we create space for something greater. We learn to listen, to hold space for others, to offer support and encouragement, knowing that in doing so, we are elevating not only their art, but our own as well. We dissolve the boundaries that divide us, and in doing so, we expand our capacity to receive and give, creating a symphony of voices, each contributing to the masterpiece of life.
